EUGENE, Ore. – Eugene police caught a man with meth outside an elementary school Thursday morning, according to the Eugene Police Department.
EPD officials said that officers responded to Danebo Elementary School at 6:53 a.m. on Sept. 24 after someone reported a man screaming inside a fenced-off construction zone. When police arrived, they found James Calvin Scroggsmann, 39, of Eugene. Scroggsmann had three warrants out for his arrest in Lane County and one in a neighboring county. Officers took him into custody and found a 3-by-5 inch bag of white crystal-like substance in his pants pocket before taking him to jail. The substance tested positive for meth and weighed 10 grams.
