EUGENE, Ore. — A late-night report of gunfire near Interstate 105 led Eugene police to arrest a 27-year-old man accused of firing a rifle toward the freeway while under the influence of alcohol.
Just before 11 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 26, officers with the Eugene Police Department (EPD) were dispatched to 90 Commons Drive after residents reported hearing 15 or more gunshots coming from north of the area.
When officers arrived, they found more than a dozen rounds of ammunition and a concrete barricade with several broken glass bottles of alcoholic beverages that appeared to have been shot at. EPD said the barricade the bullets struck was less than 40 yards from I-105 and that the firearms were fired toward the freeway…
