Neighbor’s quick call saves Eugene home from fire damage

EUGENE, Ore. – Firefighters put out a house fire in downtown Eugene late Tuesday night thanks to a neighbor’s quick call.

The fire broke out at a home on West Broadway near Washington Street. Nicole Goding was standing on her back porch around 10:30 p.m. on Sept. 29 when she saw an orange light and smelled smoke coming from the lower window of a nearby home.
