Police in Oregon removed more than 100 pet rats living in what they say were squalid conditions inside two parked cars.
The Eugene Police Department (EPD) announced in an Oct. 1 social media post that officers opened a neglect investigation after two vehicles towed on Sept. 23 were found to have dozens of rats living inside.
Eugene police and animal welfare officers were called to assist with two vehicles being towed at around 10:30 a.m. local time that day, the EPD said. When officers pulled a tarp off one of the cars, rats of different colors and sizes could be seen inside the vehicle…
