EUGENE, Ore. — An Oregon State Police (OSP) trooper arrested a bicyclist Tuesday morning after police said he rode in front of a fire truck with its emergency lights and sirens activated, forcing the truck to swerve to avoid hitting him.
On Tuesday, Oct. 6, 2026, at about 11:13 a.m., an OSP trooper attempted to stop 49-year-old Donald Anthony Dyson on River Road after observing him ride a bicycle in front of the fire truck while it was responding with lights and sirens activated.
