Greenhill Humane Society offers help after ice storm

EUGENE, Ore. – After the ice storm rocked Lane County and beyond, Eugene’s largest animal shelter joined the effort to help local folks and pets recover from the damage. Greenhill Humane Society said that since the ice storm earlier in January, they have been working with the community to help the people and pets who have been impacted. Greenhill Humane Society said they have distributed more than 2,000 pounds of pet food and supplies to overnight shelters and resource centers in Creswell, Cottage Grove, Eugene and Springfield to help people and pets who have been forced to evacuate their homes due to the ice storm. Greenhill staff said they have also provided a crisis shelter at their facility for pets to stay while their families rebuild from the storm damage.
