Eugene police swiftly respond to aid suspected overdose victim

EUGENE, Ore. – A Eugene police officer acted quickly to come to the aid of a suspected overdose victim on Tuesday evening, according to the Eugene Police Department. EPD officials said that they responded to a 911 call at 5:27 p.m. on January 23 at a downtown apartment. A woman told 911 dispatchers that her adult son had fallen in the bathroom and was likely overdosing, police said. EPD officials said that the man’s body was blocking the bathroom door. A responding officer arrived and, with the help of the woman who called, was able to push the door open, authorities said. Police said that additional responding officers moved the man out of the bathroom to administer Narcan and life-saving measures. The patient gradually recovered enough to speak with responding paramedics, police officials said.
