The top safety in the 2025 class was in Eugene over the weekend as Olney (Md.) Our Lady Good Counsel defensive back Faheem Delane took his first trip to Eugene.
The 6-foot-2, 190-pound junior spoke with Ducks Digest about the highlights from his time with the Ducks.
“They were just talking about how they’re trying to build a top defense and they’re already a top-10 defense and top-10 offense,” Delane said.” Coach (Tosh) Lupoi and Coach (Dan) Lanning coming from ‘Bama and Georgia, they know what good defense looks like. That was definitely a big plus.”
A lot of recruits take these visits with the hope of soaking up the wealth of football knowledge college coaches have to offer and that was Delane’s favorite part of the trip.
“I would just say watching film. Just going over how they see me in the system. Just getting out, it was my first time in Oregon ever, just seeing what it’s like there.”
The Maryland product hit it off with Dan Lanning, whose stock continues to soar as one of the top head coaches in college football.
