Man faces multiple charges after allegedly attempting to evade police custody

EUGENE, Ore. – A man known wanted on multiple warrants was arrested on Thursday evening after allegedly running from police, according to the Eugene Police Department. EPD officials said that two officers on patrol near the intersection of Lawrence Street and West Broadway stopped a man at 8:40 p.m. on February 8 who was known to have active warrants that included one felony warrant for his arrest. The suspect, identified as Michael Quinn Lowell, 31, ran from officers after being told he was being detained and headed toward West 8th Avenue, police said. Authorities said multiple EPD patrol units, an EPD drone operator, and Springfield K9 responded to assist in the pursuit. Bystanders told police that Lowell had run into an acquaintance’s nearby home in the 600 block of Madison Street where Lowell made his way onto the roof of a garage before being spotted by officers, police said. EPD said that an officer managed to establish a rapport with Lowell and talked him down off the roof and then arrested him without incident.
