New community program aims to promote food security and financial stability

EUGENE, Ore. — The Black Cultural Initiative hosted an orientation on Saturday for their new program dedicated to helping people of color and low-income families. At the People’s Collective on Jefferson Street, the BCI presented their “Food for the Soul” program. According to BCI Executive Director, Talicia Brown-Crowell, it is a free program aiming to address food security for low and moderate income families. The classes cover a number of subjects, including cooking and financial literacy.
