Eugene man facing burglary charges after allegedly breaking into several houses, vehicles

EUGENE, Ore. – A Eugene man is facing several charges after allegedly giving folks in a neighborhood a fright by breaking into their homes and vehicles. According to the Eugene Police Department, just after 8 p.m. on July 1, a homeowner in his garage on Bertenzen Road found James Eck, 30, going through a car. Police said the homeowner forced Eck to empty his pockets, physically removing stolen items from his pockets including a knife. Police said Eck ran away, but returned as soon as the homeowner went back inside.
