EUGENE, Ore.– Eugene Springfield Fire Department is using a brush fire along Game Farm Road on July 2 as a warning to residents ahead of the Fourth of July holiday. The fire started to burn at a section of land that commonly sees homeless encampments living in thick bushes. Fire Chief Mike Caven for Eugene Springfield Fire said commonly fires are started across the city at places with high amounts of dry vegetation.
