EUGENE, Ore. – An arrest has been made in a July assault that injured a man in Eugene. According to court records, Jeffrey Adam Lackey, 41, was arrested on September 2 after being stopped for a violation on his bicycle near west Seventh Avenue and Van Buren Street. That’s when officers identified him as the suspect in an incident on July 18 in which a man told police he had been injured at the bus station at Polk and west Seventh Avenue. Police said Lackey allegedly fired a bb gun at the 24-year-old victim during an argument over property. Lackey then allegedly pulled out a knife and chased the victim, eventually throwing the knife, which cut the victim. Police said Lackey continued to follow the victim and tried to stab him.
