Summer continues into September with Oregon heat wave

September has welcomed school back into session, celebrated Labor Day and ushered in a late-summer heat wave for much of the West Coast. Oregon is one of four states alongside California, Nevada and Arizona to be put under excessive heat advisories this week.

Lane County Health and Human Services lays the foundation for extreme weather and air quality event responses. The county maintains information on cooling and smoke shelters .
