Actor Glen Powell Commits to the Ducks, Leads National Championship Run

Glenn Powell, the star of “Twisters” and “Anyone But You” has a new role in a Hulu half hour comedy series, “Chad Powers,” where he plays quarterback for the Oregon Ducks.

It’s a mistaken identity story. Powell’s character is really quarterback Russ Holiday, who squanders his career with some bad behavior. Yearning for another shot at the game he adopts a disguise as “Chad Powers.”

The inspiration for the series was an undercover “tryout” at Penn State Eli Manning did as a stunt a couple of years ago. Manning and his brother Payton are executive producers on the Hulu show.

Powers walks on to a struggling southern football team under his assumed name, but in a flashback scene as Holiday, he’s leading the Ducks to a winning touchdown over Georgia in the Rose Bowl.

Powell co-wrote the story along with Michael Waldron. Hulu has ordered ten episodes that are scheduled to hit the airwaves in 2025.
