New Lane Transit District schedule includes more frequent service

The Lane Transit District will switch to its Fall 2024 schedule on Monday.

The new schedule adds trips to several routes to make them more frequent, in what LTD described as an 8% weekday service increase. For several routes, these add service beyond what was cut last March . The new schedules will last until February 2025.

LTD attributed the service bump to increased ridership and drivers.

“We have hired a lot more bus operators,” LTD spokesperson Anni Katz said in a press release. ”LTD’s massive recruitment effort over the last several months has been a success.”

LTD’s new schedule includes the following changes:

  • EmX runs every 10 minutes instead of every 15 minutes on weekday afternoons.
  • Route 1 (Campbell Center) adds a 5:30 p.m. trip on weekdays, extending service an hour later on a route that’s hourly for most of the day.
  • Route 12 (Gateway) adds a 6 p.m. trip on weekdays, extending how long the route runs every half-hour instead of every hour.
  • Route 17 (5th/Hayden Bridge) has a new weekday schedule that adds three trips and reschedules the existing ones.
  • Route 18 (Mohawk) also has a new weekday schedule with six more trips for later and more frequent service.
  • Route 24 (Donald) adds five weekday trips, extending the time when the route runs every half hour.
  • Route 28 (Hilyard) also adds five weekday trips similarly extending the time it runs on a half-hour cycle.
  • Route 36 (W 18th) adds 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. trips to give the route a half-hour cycle on weekday mornings.
  • Route 40 (Echo Hollow) adds six weekday trips so the route now runs every half-hour for most of the day before 6:30 p.m.
  • Routes 66 and 67 (VRC/Coburg Road) each add two weekday trips to run on a 20-minute cycle between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m.
  • Route 79x (UO/Kinsrow) cuts five trips at the end of the day so the last trip is now at 5:50 p.m. instead of 9:30 p.m. LTD attributed this cut to no longer receiving funding from the Associated Students of the University of Oregon, which it said was paying for the evening trips.
  • Route 82 (LCC/Pearl) adds a one-way trip leaving LCC station at 8:59 a.m. on weekdays.
