An opening, a reopening and a new location at restaurants in Eugene

New restaurants open in Eugene every week, but it’s rare to see one reopen or launch a new location due to popular demand

Three restaurants in Eugene are doing just that — reopening, opening new locations, or both.

Sweet Waters on the River has reopened with a new menu and updated dining room inside the Valley River Inn. Sling-In Wiener has opened a new brick-and-mortar location downtown, where owners Rev and Misti Hagan are taking things “one wiener at a time.” And Seoul K-Food is set to open on Willamette Street, bringing traditional and modern Korean dishes to a new part of town.

Sweet Waters on the River reopens in Eugene after fire

Sweet Waters on the River reopened in August to an expectant crowd.

The restaurant closed in early 2023 due to smoke damage from a fire in an adjacent wing of the hotel. Bryan Edwards, the vice president of Food and Beverage and corporate chef at the restaurant, said while Sweet Waters on the River has been modernized, there was a real effort to preserve its heritage during the remodel.
