Eugene man accused of threatening schools, unlawfully purchasing handgun

EUGENE, Ore. – A Eugene man who made threats on social media was jailed in September on several charges including disorderly conduct and illegally purchasing a handgun. Court records show Jeffrey Voss, 31, was taken to the Lane County Jail on September 27 after Eugene Police Department was notified of several videos Voss posted on social media where he held a gun and made threats. In videos shared on Facebook, Voss claimed to be minutes away from Springfield High School and threatened to become a school shooter. In other videos, he said he was tired of getting picked on, and held a gun to his head. Voss is charged with first-degree disorderly conduct, with court documents alleging that Voss intended to cause public alarm by initiating a report of impending emergency or catastrophe in or upon a school. Voss is still in jail as of October 2, according to jail records.
