Midnight Oil: Corvallis’ injury bug infestation

Alrighty, we’re back. 11:11 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 5, I just walked back in the door to my apartment from Oregon State’s 39-31 double overtime win over Colorado State at Reser Stadium. Last night at this time I was at Autzen Stadium watching Oregon thump Michigan State. To make a long story short, I’m looking forward to my day off tomorrow.

But before then, we’ve got some things to break down.

First and foremost, I want to just say how much I love college football. I get sappy past 11 p.m., OK? And even more so when I’m worn out. But the past two days have been awesome.

The environment of Autzen Stadium is always top notch (and my family very much enjoyed the video of “Shout!” I sent them). Oregon State’s win was the first overtime college football game I’ve ever covered and despite it being one of the more stressful 45-minute window periods I’ve had this season as I watched Colorado State and Oregon State trade blows while my game story was lit aflame, it was a sight to behold. I even got hit by a Gevani McCoy pass on the sideline! Arkansas and Vanderbilt’s upsets were fun to track on my phone — side bar, Vanderbilt quarterback Diego Pavia absolutely rules.
