Pat McAfee Faces Backlash From Deion Sanders Over Travis Hunter Comment

Saturday morning in Eugene, Oregon, was packed with memorable moments during ESPN’s “College GameDay” ahead of the massive showdown between the No. 2 Ohio State Buckeyes and the No. 3 Oregon Ducks.

During an interview with the crew, Colorado Buffaloes head coach Deion Sanders seized the opportunity to call out Pat McAfee . McAfee had claimed that Colorado standout Travis Hunter ranked second in the Heisman race behind Boise State running back Ashton Jeanty, and Sanders made sure McAfee knew he had made a mistake.

When Pat McAfee asked Coach Prime about Travis Hunter’s Heisman candidacy, he referred to Hunter as second in the Heisman voting. Sanders quickly interrupted him, playfully challenging McAfee’s claim.

“How do you even fix your mouth to say that? Second? You said it! You can’t get into that type of conversation,” Sanders joked, highlighting his confidence in Hunter’s standing in the race.

Check out the interaction:

Hunter is a generational talent in every way. Not only is he one of the best wide receivers in the country, but he’s also an elite defensive back, making him a potential first-round pick at both positions—an astonishing feat in its own right.
