Oregon quarterback Dillon Gabriel appeared live on ESPN SportsCenter this week, calmly answering questions the way he looks for an open receiver in the pocket. He broke down the growth on the team, what’s helped him in adjusting to a new program, and what it’s like playing for Dan Lanning.
The host asked him how the Ducks progressed from shaky, narrow victories at the start of the season to beating #3 Ohio State and staying undefeated in the Big Ten.
“Just a bunch of growth,” Gabriel said, “I think that’s everyone in this building, not just players but coaches and everyone who helps us out.”
“Seeing that has helped us out a ton and pushing one another to keep getting better.”
Oregon is his third stop in college football. He started his career at UCF and then transferred to Oklahoma. ESPN asked what Gabriel’s secret was in making those transitions so smoothly.
“Just trusting people. I’ve always led with my heart and that’s led me to the right people in my corner.”
“Being here at Oregon, I’ve been in an environment that’s just very proactive and very beneficial to the players and our playing styles and that’s helped us out a ton, myself included.”
