Documentary on canoeing the Columbia River to debut at The Eugene Art House

EUGENE, Ore. – A documentary about canoeing the famous Columbia River is making its Oregon debut this weekend in Eugene.

The “Columbia River Canoe Project” follows two young men from Montana along their 52-day, 1,300-mile journey from the Continental Divide, down the Columbia River, to the Pacific Ocean. The documentary’s creator and expedition leader, Robert Lester, said that the voyage represented the culmination of a journey he’d always wanted to experience.

“This trip had been something that I kind of had always wanted to do since I was a little kid,” he said. “When I was little, I… loved the idea that all the rivers were connected.”…
