Firefighters quickly to Highway 58 vehicle fire, driver not injured

PLEASANT HILL, Ore. – Swift action by bystanders and firefighters were key in helping a motorist escape a vehicle fire without injuries on Friday afternoon, according to Pleasant Hill Goshen Fire and Rescue officials.

Fire authorities said crews responded at about 1:15 p.m. to a reported vehicle fire near milepost 6 on Highway 58. Firefighters had received initial information that the driver might still be inside the burning vehicle but bystanders on scene had helped the elderly motorist safely get out of his vehicle, fire officials said.
