Medford, OR – A strong weather system will bring gusty winds, rain, and mountain snow to Southern Oregon and Northern California this week, impacting travel and outdoor plans. Wind gusts up to 50 mph are expected, particularly in the Shasta Valley and East Side, while snow levels drop as low as 2,000 feet by midweek.
According to the National Weather Service Medford, the system arrives late Monday with dry but breezy conditions before shifting Tuesday night into Wednesday with strong south winds, widespread valley rain, and accumulating mountain snow. Snow-covered roads, slippery conditions, and reduced visibility will be concerns above 4,000 feet, including I-5 near Mt. Shasta.
