ODOT closes snowy Highway 58 as winter storm blankets Cascades

UPDATE FROM ODOT: Winter weather forced the closure Sunday night of a 33-mile stretch of OR 58, between Oakridge in the west and Crescent Lake in the East. ODOT crews report spinouts, trees down and snowy conditions and we do not have an estimate for when the road will reopen.

Due to persistent heavy precipitation and high winds, travelers in SW Oregon are advised to expect significant disruptions on all highways. Winter storm conditions are affecting the region, with impacts expected to continue through Monday, including the coastal, valley, and mountain areas.
