Level 1 Evacuation Notice in Mohawk & Cottage Grove

UPDATE (2:00 AM): Both Level 1 Be Ready Evacuation Notices remain in effect in both Cottage Grove and Mohawk this morning (see prior updates for specific locations). Multiple road closures have been lifted (OR-38, OR-58, and US-101 are now open with delays), but OR-138 remains closed 12 miles east of Glide. Additional closures are now in effect on OR-99 in both Creswell and Goshen. Areas of high water remain in place around the region with multiple Flood Warnings in effect. Most rivers and creeks are expected to crest in the next few hours before gradually receding, but impacts will continue to be felt throughout the morning commute. Keep an eye on tripcheck before heading out on your morning commute and be prepared to take alternate routes if needed

UPDATE (4:30 PM): OR-58 is now closed just east of Oakridge and through Odell Lake. Heavy snowfall and winter weather conditions could keep this closure in effect for the next few hours while ODOT crews work to plow the roads. Continue to reference tripcheck moving forward into this evening to be aware of any lasting impacts on roads around the region

UPDATE (3:30 PM): A Level 1 Be Ready Evacuation Notice is now in effect for all areas south of Silk Creek to Bryant Avenue & Riverstone RV Park in Cottage Grove. A Shelter in Place is also in place for all areas north of Silk Creek Road accessed by Cemetery Bridge Road. A temporary shelter has been set up at the Community Center in Cottage Grove for affected residents

UPDATE (2:30 PM): Current road closures from landslides and high water include OR-42 from Camas Valley to Remote, OR-138 east of Idleyld Park, and OR-38 located 9 miles west of Elkton. Additional delays remain on US-101 and I-5 this afternoon as well. Be sure to check tripcheck before heading out on the roads to ensure your route will be safe to travel this afternoon

UPDATE (12:30 PM): All areas on Sunderman Road in Mohawk are now under Level 1 Be Ready Evacuation Notices due to high water and potential flooding. A Flood Warning is currently in effect for the Mohawk River through Monday afternoon. Anyone living in this area is advised to be ready to evacuate if conditions worsen

UPDATE (12:00 PM): Additional landslides are being reported on OR-42 and causing closures between Remote and Camas Valley. There are also closures on US-101 located 6 miles north of Langlois and OR-38 near Idleyld Park. While the rainfall is beginning to wrap-up, high water will take time to fully clear out. Keep an eye on tripcheck before heading out this afternoon to ensure your route is safe

UPDATE (9:30 AM): According to tripcheck, the landslide is once again causing a full closure of OR-38 located 9 miles west of Elkton. There has also been a landslide reported on OR-138 located 10 miles east of Glide. Rainfall is gradually receding to the south, but more wet weather is still expected to have an impact on roadways throughout the morning hours.

UPDATE (7:15 AM): According to tripcheck, the initial Closure on OR-38 9 miles west of Elkton has now been upgraded to a delay. Be sure to continue to use caution if heading out in any areas impacted by landslides, rock falls, or high water
