Occupants escape manufactured home fire possibly sparked by faulty charging device

SWEET HOME, Ore. – Five occupants safely escaped a house fire that broke out in a Sweet Home manufactured home on Friday morning, according to the Sweet Home Fire District.

SHFD personnel said they responded at 7:11 a.m. on March 21 to a reported structure fire on Marks Ridge Road. Responding firefighters arrived on scene to find heavy fire and smoke coming from a bedroom window and through the roof near the back of the structure, fire officials said. Fire district authorities said that five residents of the home had evacuated and told firefighters that they had been inside when the fire broke out in a back bedroom.
