County to spend $250,000 to advertise lack of funds

EUGENE: In a five-to-zero vote on Tuesday, the Lane County Board of Commissioners approved a plan to publicize what is predicted to become a critical shortage of operating funds.

Hopefully, voters will come to the rescue by passing a $5 million ballot measure calling for higher taxes in November. If passed, $2.5 million of the funds would be allocated for public safety measures, with the remaining 50% going to salary increases for senior county staff…
