Storm damage forces evacuations of east Eugene homes; one sliding off foundation

EUGENE, Ore. — Multiple homes in the Moon Mountain area in east Eugene have been deemed unoccupiable, and one of them is sliding off its foundation following a storm earlier this month.

The Eugene City Manager’s office posted warnings on three homes on Rockress Road, saying not to enter.

A representative from the Public Works Department says the homes were built in 2022 – and prior to the slide, the buildings met all necessary safety standards, and the lots were deemed safe…
