FRIDAY, MARCH 28
• 3:36 p.m. — Troopers responded to a three-vehicle crash on Highway 97 about 6 miles south of Biggs Junction in Sherman County that took the life of Satwant Singh, 33, of Yuba City, California. OSP’s preliminary investigation indicated that Singh was headed south on Highway 97 in a Kenworth semi-truck when he failed to negotiate a curve, entered the northbound lane and crashed nearly head-on into a northbound Peterbilt semi-truck operated by a 65-year-old Snohomish, Washington, man. The Kenworth then struck a northbound GMC 3500 driven by a 63-year-old Wilton, California, man. The collision caused both semi-trucks to catch fire. Singh was declared deceased at the scene. A passenger in the Kenworth, a 31-year-old Yuba City, California, man, was seriously injured and transported to an area hospital.
