SALEM, Ore. (KATU) — Attorney General Dan Rayfield and State House Speaker Julie Fahey announced they will hold a joint town hall on Wednesday in Eugene to hear directly from Oregonians affected by recent federal government budget cuts and job layoffs. The event aims to provide a platform for people to share their experiences, concerns, and ideas for state-level action to address the fallout from these cuts.
“These executive orders coming out of the White House are deeply affecting Oregon families, workers and communities,” Rayfield said. “I’m committed to understanding the ripple effect these actions are having and supporting Oregonians who are struggling, through actions we can take in our office.”
Fahey added, “Since President Trump’s inauguration, his reckless agenda has created chaos across the country. At the state level, Attorney General Rayfield and the Oregon House Democrats are taking bold steps to protect the progress Oregonians have made and to uphold the values that define our state. I’m excited to join the Attorney General in Eugene for this critical conversation.”…
