Eugene postal workers protest proposed privatization, fear service cuts and higher costs

EUGENE, Ore. — Postal workers in Eugene were on the picket lines Tuesday, protesting the possible privatization of the US Postal Service.

“The U.S. Mail. Not for sale!” shouted protesters who marched in front of the downtown post office Tuesday afternoon, urging the government not to privatize the agency.

The Eugene Postal Workers Union says selling the Post Office would lead to lower service, increased costs, and massive job cuts…
