Creswell man dies in two-vehicle crash that closed Highway 99

GOSHEN, Ore. – A fatal two-vehicle crash that temporarily closed Highway 99 South on Monday afternoon claimed the life of a Creswell man, according to the Oregon State Police.

OSP officials said that they responded just before 3:30 p.m. on April 7 to a two-vehicle crash on Highway 99 South near milepost 1.5 in Lane County. A preliminary investigation determined that a southbound Kenworth log truck driven by a 52-year-old Cottage Grove man slowed to make a left turn when it was struck from behind by a southbound Toyota Matrix driven by 29-year-old Josef Alexander Ward, state police said.
