Pleasant Hill firefighters extinguish fryer fire at local business

PLEASANT HILL, Ore. – Firefighters used handheld fire extinguishers to put out a fire at a grocery store in Pleasant Hill earlier on Thursday morning.

According to Pleasant Hill Goshen Fire, At about 10:20 a.m. on April 10 firefighters responded to reports of a fire in a fryer at the Dari Market in Pleasant Hill. Firefighters said they arrived to find a fire that was contained to the general area of the fryers, but had not been fully controlled by the building’s fire suppression system. Firefighters said they used handheld fire extinguishers to put out the fire before venting the smoke and checking to make sure the fire hadn’t spread.

Firefighters said quick thinking and fast action from employees at the business helped limit damage and prevent the spread of the fire. Pleasant Hill Goshen Fire said that while the kitchen will need some repairs, the store itself should be able to continue service as usual…
