SALEM Ore. (KPTV) – An Oregon inmate briefly escaped from a work crew in Salem on Friday, according to the Oregon Department of Corrections.
Shortly before 12:30 p.m., ODOC said Steven Timothy Gant ran away from an off-site work crew on foot, before being caught nearby on Mission Street by Oregon State Police officers.
Gant has been an inmate at the Santiam Correctional Institution in Salem since Dec. 24, 2024, on two counts of unlawful use of a motor vehicle out of Douglas County. His earliest release date was May 14, 2026…
