Eugene, OR – April 15, 2025 – From the streets of downtown to the mirrored studios across Lane County, Eugene is ready to move. National Dance Week kicks off this Friday, April 18, igniting a citywide celebration of rhythm, creativity, and community. For ten exhilarating days, local dancers, studios, and cultural organizations will unite to showcase everything from ballet and hip-hop to global dance traditions, contemporary choreography, and everything in between.
Whether you’re a trained dancer, a toe-tapper, or someone who simply loves to watch others express themselves through movement, National Dance Week in Eugene offers something special—something that will move you, literally and figuratively.
💃 What is National Dance Week?
National Dance Week (NDW) is a nationwide celebration held each spring to honor the art of dance and make it more accessible to the public. What began in 1981 as a grassroots initiative has grown into a vibrant cultural movement celebrated in communities across the U.S.—and Eugene has long been one of its most enthusiastic hosts.
Locally, NDW has evolved into a uniquely Eugene-style festival that blends professional performances, free community classes, open rehearsals, youth showcases, flash mobs, and cultural dance experiences into a joyful and inclusive week of movement and expression.
