Springfield man accused in Salem double fatal crash was distracted, not high, defense says

A defense attorney for a Springfield man accused of killing two people and driving his truck while under the influence of an inhalant in September 2024 said in opening arguments April 30 Terrance Quackenbush-Benson was distracted by looking at his GPS system, but not high.

Quackenbush-Benson, 29, was indicted by a Marion County Grand Jury of two counts of first-degree manslaughter, two counts of second-degree manslaughter, driving under the influence of intoxicants, reckless driving, second-degree assault and two counts of third-degree assault.
