North Carolina man arrested after allegedly driving to Eugene to threaten residents

EUGENE, Ore. – A North Carolina man was arrested by Lane County deputies an is accused of stalking an ex-boyfriend across the country, and threatening to kill him, his roommate, and himself, court documents claim.

According to court records, Regis McDonald, 32, of North Carolina, was arrested in Klamath Falls on a Eugene Police Department case involving stalking, telephonic harassment, criminal trespassing and theft charges that were later filed by the Lane County District Attorney. Court documents said McDonald was first reported to Eugene police in March 2025, after allegedly having texted images of a gun to victims out of the blue. Later, McDonald allegedly drove across the country to the victims’ homes in Eugene and tried to open the locked front door before ripping off a security camera and driving away. Court records claim he did all this while allegedly sending more than 60 text messages…
