Car accident causes power outage for 1,100 customers in Springfield

SPRINGFIELD, Ore. — If you woke up in Springfield Tuesday morning without any power, you are not alone.

According to the Springfield Utility Board (SUB), early Tuesday morning a car collided with a power pole at the intersection of Marcola Road and 33rd Street, causing a power outage affecting approximately 1,100 customers. The incident occurred around 6:45 a.m., and SUB crews are currently on the scene working to restore power.
