Two-alarm Springfield apartment fire under investigation

SPRINGFIELD, Ore. – Fire crews responded to a two-alarm blaze at a Springfield apartment fire complex on Monday evening, according to Eugene Springfield Fire officials.

ESF authorities said that firefighters were dispatched just after 6:30 p.m. on May 19 to a fire at the Rainbow Village Apartments. The responding battalion chief called for a second alarm and additional resources as initial reports indicated potential victims and multiple units on fire, fire officials said. Authorities said an engine from ESF’s Gateway station responded within minutes to find a single apartment unit heavily involved in fire.
