EUGENE Ore. (KPTV) – A Eugene man has been indicted on multiple charges, including computer crimes and encouraging child sexual abuse, after investigators say he stole intimate images and videos from Snapchat accounts and sold them without consent.
The investigation started in November 2022 when an Oregon State University student living in Washington County reported her private Snapchat content had been stolen and distributed. A deputy with the Washington County Sheriff’s Office launched a wide-ranging investigation that ultimately identified more than 36 victims, including minors.
