Three children injured in River Road area vehicle versus pedestrian crash

EUGENE, Ore. – Three young children were transported to a local hospital on Friday evening following a River Road area vehicle versus pedestrian crash, according to the Eugene Police Department.

EPD officials said they responded shortly after 7 p.m. on June 6 to the incident at River Road and Hamilton Avenue where three children ages 11, 6, and 5 were reportedly struck by a Subaru Forester while they were in a crosswalk. The three victims were transported to a local hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries, police said. Eugene police officials said that, as officers arrived at the scene, multiple people were screaming at the involved driver as well as police officers. Among those was a teen that allegedly disrupted the investigation and had to be restrained from assaulting the involved driver, authorities said.
