Newport was the coolest spot yesterday, with temperatures in the low 60s, while Tillamook and Astoria reached the low to high 70s. Highs topped out in the mid-90s from Eugene to Portland, and it climbed into the upper 90s in Hood River. Triple digits were recorded in The Dalles and Roseburg.
Today will still be hot, with highs in the low to mid-90s, but the ridge of high pressure is beginning to weaken. Increasing onshore flow (cooling marine air) will help bring highs back into the mid-80s tomorrow, starting a gradual cooling trend through the rest of the week.
By midweek, temperatures will drop into the low 80s, then settle into the low to mid-70s—at or just below average—for the remainder of the week…
