Less than two months after her 19th birthday, Hana Dussan is the youngest graduate in the University of Oregon Class of 2025.
Raised in Visalia, California, Dussan was a freshman in high school when the COVID-19 pandemic hit and the country transitioned to remote learning. While many struggled under distance learning, Dussan thrived. Online learning allowed her to go at her own pace, and Dussan was able to speed through her classwork. Soon, she switched to independent study, graduating high school at age 15 in December 2021.
Dussan then took classes are her local community college, College of the Sequoias, transferring to UO in December 2022 at age 16. Three-and-a-half years later, Dussan will accept dual diplomas for concurrent bachelor’s degrees in communications disorders and sciences and linguistics. Her goal: become a speech language pathologist, partly inspired by her mom, an occupational therapist.
