One driver hospitalized in two-vehicle crash that blocked northbound Highway 99

EUGENE, Ore. – A two-vehicle crash temporarily closed both northbound lanes of Highway 99 at Roosevelt Boulevard early Monday morning, according to the Eugene Police Department.

EPD officials said they responded just past 5 a.m. on June 16 to a reported motor vehicle crash at Highway 99 and Roosevelt Boulevard. The 19-year-old male driver of one of the involved vehicles, a Lexus RX, had reportedly been speeding before sliding into a Dodge Ram truck, traveling sideways into a grass strip between the curb and sidewalk and then flipping multiple times before crashing into a tree, police said. Authorities said both northbound lanes of Highway 99 were blocked by the crash. The driver of the Lexus was extricated by Eugene Springfield Fire personnel and transported to a local hospital for treatment of their injuries, police officials said…
