CURTIN MAN JAILED FOR RESTRAINING ORDER VIOLATION, DRUG CHARGES

A Curtin man was jailed for a restraining order violation, and drug charges on Wednesday evening.

A Douglas County Sheriff’s Office report said just after 5:50 p.m. a deputy observed 37-year-old Kristopher Cody walking out of a business in Drain with a victim who he is restrained from. As the deputy turned around, the man’s vehicle left the store parking lot. The deputy conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle in the 300 block of First Street but found that the protected party was in the driver’s seat. The deputy asked her where Cody was, but she would not provide an answer.

Several bystanders said a man matching Cody’s description was running down the nearby railroad tracks. The deputy ran to the tracks and observed the suspect running east. The deputy started running towards Cody but lost sight of him near a large field east of the store. The deputy waited for a K9 unit and when he arrived, an area search was conducted. Cody was not located…
