Eugene sets aside $500k for crisis response, but CAHOOTS revival needs much more

EUGENE, Ore. — There’s a long way to go to revive CAHOOTS in Eugene.

$500,000 was set aside to transition alternative crisis response within the City of Eugene’s budget.

But that’s not even close to what CAHOOTS once operated on – and advocates say it’s nowhere near what’s needed to rebuild a crisis services model from the ground up…
