EUGENE, Ore. — Average gasoline prices in Eugene have barely decreased by 0.4 cents per gallon over the past week, now averaging $3.98 per gallon, according to GasBuddy’s survey of 78 stations in the area. Despite this slight drop, prices in Eugene remain 9.4 cents higher than a month ago and 23.1 cents higher than a year ago.
Nationally, the average price of gasoline has fallen by 3.8 cents per gallon in the last week, now averaging $3.14 per gallon. This is 1.1 cents higher than a month ago but 32.1 cents lower than a year ago, based on data from GasBuddy, which compiles information from over 150,000 gas stations across the country.
Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy, said, “The national average price of gasoline has resumed its decline, with falling prices driven by easing tensions in the Middle East—just weeks after those same tensions had pushed prices higher.”…
