Accused Eugene Weekly embezzler now in Lane County Jail

EUGENE, Ore. — In an update in the Eugene Weekly embezzlement case, Elisha Young is now in the Lane County Jail.

Jail records show Young was booked into the jail on Wednesday night for three counts of first-degree aggravated theft and two counts of first-degree theft. On Wednesday, Lane County District Attorney Christopher Parosa confirmed there were plans in motion to bring her back to Oregon to face charges. Oregon had until July 10 to bring young back to the state.

Young had been arrested early in May in Ohio, but after a two-week hold, she was released when Governor Tina Kotek declined to pay for Young to be brought back to Oregon to face numerous theft charges. Kotek then reversed her decision, but it was too late as Young had already been released. Young was re-arrested in June…
