With warm temperatures, dry landscapes and a holiday centered on fire-related festivities, it’s no surprise that fire crews are on high alert.
“Usually on Fourth of July, or really any holiday weekend, we do see an uptick in human-caused fires,” said Jessica Neujahr, public affairs officer for the Oregon Department of Forestry.
